Brothers!
Jimmy emailed me today and asked my opion on something. I replied with my honest opinion, to which he responded:
“What do you know? I’m getting it anyway. –Jimmy”
I’m still laughing! Brothers! Gotta love ‘em!

We officially closed the pool tonight. Once the weather starts cooling down at night, the pool is too cold to get in no matter how hot it gets during the day. Of course closing the pool is a little more than putting a ‘closed’ sign on it and taking the steps out!. We poured in the required chemicals, let the pump run for a few hours, and put the cover on. It was a wonderful summer as far as the pool went. The weather was very hot and the pool was just right. Sue, her kids, and I spent a lot of time in it while she was here. Sadly, I only swam once after she left. I cannot wait for her next visit to another dimension so we can once again enjoy the pool and each other’s company!
Christopher called me today at work. He said “are you going home before you go to Grandmother’s dinner tonight?” When I said that I was, he said “would you please bring my extra truck key to town.” Of course I knew what happened…. How many times will that boy lock his keys in his car before he learns his lesson? I’m still laughing!
I’m not sure why I’m touched by the death of Crocodile Hunter Steve irwin, but I am. Maybe because he’s the age my husband is now, or maybe it’s because he left behind a wife and 2 small children. Maybe it’s because he was so personable. I’m not sure of the exact reason, but his death has touched me — made me sad, very sad. I pray for his wife and children, and any extended family he leaves behind.
I cannot believe that I forgot to blog PaPa’s birthday. Yesterday he would have been 118. He was born on September 2, 1888. I can remember his ago so well, because my son was born 100 years (almost) after he was. PaPa was a wonderful, patient, loving man, and I miss him to this day.
Yesterday, The Auburn Tigers started their 2006 football season. What a start it was! They played Washington State at home. Washington State was not a team to be taken lightly — they played a hard game. All-in-all, the game was great. Aubrn was a bit uncertain in the beginning, but they pulled it together and looked like a well-oiled machine by the end. I hope they continue to grow as a team and grow in their confidence. I was so ready for football season, and here it is! All I have to say is: WAR EAGLE!!!!
