It’s ALL ABOUT ME!

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama has been given the OK by the state for Alabama to have a “Funding Breast Cancer Research” car tag. However, the tags will not be issued until the foundation receives 1000 commitments for purchase. To commit to purchase, you must go to your local DMV office, request the Breast Cancer Research tag - #86, and pay $50.00. You do not have to wait until it is time to renew your tags before you purchase a commitment — you can do it now. The sooner, the better.

The price of the special license plate (which can be personalized) is $50.00, but out of that, $41.25 goes directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama. Money raised by the foundation goes to the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center and is dedicated to breast cancer research.

I’m going to get my commitment to purchase in the next couple of weeks.

Shortly after Jennifer went in her room to get ready for bed Thursday night, I heard her call me. We passed in the hallway and I heard the word “spider”. I went in her room and found this looking at me:

I put a glass over the spider and carefully slid a paper plate under the spider and the glass. After the capture, I carried the spider into the living room and we all examined it closely. I think it is a wolf spider, but since I’m not a spider expert, we cannot be sure.

We kept the little critter under the glass until Jim came home. The situation was turned over to him and he let the spider free on a tree outside. Of course the spider took immediately took off — probably trying to beat me to the front door!!!

Ain’t it sweet!!!! Six in a row….

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I am thankful for my family, my home, my sweet dogs, my job, my health, and all my other blessings I’m not thinking about right now. I truly am thankful for my family and I LOVE THEM ALL!!

What a funny brother I have!

I’m sure my brother will give me a hard time about this, but one of my favorite movies is on The Hallmark Channel tonight. It’s the original “The Parent Trap” (1961 version). It’s a silly move, really, and it’s not one of the best made movies ever, but it’s a favorite of mine. You all know the story: Twins meet up at camp never knowing about each other beforehand. I love it because it features a motherless daughter who finds out, quite by surprise, that she actually does have a mother! What a wonderful surpriseI guess I always thought what a nice thing that would be. It’s a nice dream, anyway! Well, I’m off now to watch the rest of the movie!
