OH NO! My team sucks!

Yesterday, The Auburn Tigers started their 2006 football season. What a start it was! They played Washington State at home. Washington State was not a team to be taken lightly — they played a hard game. All-in-all, the game was great. Aubrn was a bit uncertain in the beginning, but they pulled it together and looked like a well-oiled machine by the end. I hope they continue to grow as a team and grow in their confidence. I was so ready for football season, and here it is! All I have to say is: WAR EAGLE!!!!

It’s Monday, and it’s still GREAT TO BE AN AUBURN TIGER!!!

Why do the research when someone else has already done it for me!

WAR EAGLE!

A first grade teacher explains to her class that she is an Alabama fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they are Alabama fans too. Not really knowing what an Alabama fan was, but wanting to be liked by their teacher, their hands fly into the air. There is, however, one exception. A little girl named Jane has not gone along with the crowd.

The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different. “Because I’m not an Alabama fan” she reports.

Then,” asks the teacher, “what are you?”

“I’m a proud Auburn Fan” the girl said!

The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks Jane, “Why are you an Auburn Fan?”

“Well, my Dad and Mom are Auburn fans, so I’m an Auburn fan, too,” she responds.

The teacher is angry now. “That’s no reason,” she says loudly. “What if your Mom was a moron, and your dad was an idiot. What would you be then?”

Jane smiles and says, “Then I’d be an Alabama fan.”

If you are a place kicker or know a place kicker who can actually kick a football through the uprights, please let Auburn know because they desperately need one. Desperately.

I sure hope this is not indicative of how the rest of our season goes. The Auburn Tigers opened their football season with a very disappointing loss on their own field. They were favored by seven points, but I guess they didn’t realize it. I sure hoped we would be a blow-out team and put to silence the nay-sayers otherwise known as sportswriters. Guess I was just too optimistic! Oh well, it was the first game of the season, it was not a conference game, and it takes the pressure off the team by getting a loss out of the way early on. I still hold out hope for the rest of the season.

I’ve been waiting for the college football season, and here it is! Tonight is the Kickoff Classic starring South Carolina. Well, I THINK it is the kickoff classic, but I cannot verify that. And I see that tonight isn’t the first game of the seaon, but for me it is and I’m excited. There is nothing better than college football. Especially Auburn football.
